Tim Davis, Kingston, WA
Photography has been my artistic expression since a young age but was primarily limited to photos of our travels or family events.
When my wife and I retired to rural Kingston, WA in 2018, my interest in landscape and nature photography was immediately inspired by the remarkable beauty that surrounds us. My portfolio soon expanded to include Wildlife, Ferries, and Event photography.
Initially, I shared my photographs on social media, where they quickly attracted a local following. One follower, who had worked on the ferries for many years, expressed a personal connection to one of my ferry photos. This motivated me to submit three photographs to the 2019 Edmonds Art Festival juried competition. I was honored when all three submissions were accepted, with one piece, "Goodbye Bremerton," winning first place in photography.
Since then, I have continued to participate in juried competitions and art festival events. My work is now displayed in homes, boats, and businesses from Kingston to Ireland.
As I am committed to continuous growth as an artist, in recent years, I have ventured into abstract photography, focusing on compositions that appear abstract without digital alteration. This includes a series titled "Ocean Dye," featuring boat hulls out of the water where cleaning and renovation reveal stunning colors and textures.
Photography remains my expression, my joy, and my passion. I hope you enjoy my work.
